R.I.P Chester Bennington: One Week Later

It has been one week since the shocking news was announced that Chester Bennington, Linkin Park frontman, had committed suicide. Like a lot of people, I am still in complete shock. I didn't believe it when I first saw it. I didn't want it to be true, I thought it was just some sick, twisted joke. But it wasn't. Chester is my icon. I have looked up to him from a young age and I still can't quite comprehend that my hero is gone. But he will never be forgotten. Chester and Linkin Park are the most influential musicians of this generation. Everyone has listened to them at some point and have been moved by them. Like many others, I grew up listening to Linkin Park. Their music helped me get through some tough times in my life and their lyrics mean a lot to me. They were one of the first bands I ever listened to. My mum always played them and it wasn't long until I fell in love with them. I then later showed my cousin them and it wasn't long until she was in l...

How Fashion Can Boost Self-Confidence

Since January 2017, I have lost almost 2 stone in weight. However, I have still been feeling very low about my body. Even though I have worked hard on losing weight, I still always put myself down, when I should be giving myself some credit. I've been finding getting ready in the morning very difficult. I'd spend time doing my makeup but felt like it never looked good enough. I'd get dressed, look in the mirror and call myself fat and ugly. Every day I'd breakdown over the way I look. I found myself throwing most of my clothes away because I didn't like the way I looked in them. So, I decided that I needed a shopping spree. Having the right outfit and your own sense of style that makes you feel good can really help boost your confidence. I wanted to change up my wardrobe and find clothes that make me feel better about myself. A few days ago, my boyfriend went to Plymouth to get more of his tattoo done. So, I decided to go with him and do some shopping whilst...

Seeing Linkin Park: A Childhood Dream

Last week, on the 6th of July, my boyfriend and I travelled from Cornwall to Birmingham to see Linkin Park live, one of my favourite bands. I was raised listening to bands such as Linkin Park so I have been a huge fan of them since I was a child. My mum would always play their music in the house and when we were out in the car. I knew all their songs and had memorised all their lyrics. I have wanted to see them for a very long time. I had never been so excited for a gig. It was very much a dream come true. They played classics such as In the End , From the Inside  and One Step Closer. They also played some of their later stuff, including  Castle of Glass and The Catalyst. The energy was incredible, especially during Faint and Bleed it Out where there wasn't one person stood still. It was electric. However, I did feel like the energy dropped when they played songs from their new album (can't say that I'm a fan). I was also nearly brou...

10 Books You Need To Read

Books are wonderful things that allow you to escape the harshness of reality, even just for a short while. There is no better feeling than being completely stuck into a book, feeling like you're really in that story and not being able to put it down because you just have to know what is going to happen next. As a literature/book nerd, I thought it would be a great idea to write a post about some of my favourite books that I think you should read. I have narrowed it down to ten for the sake of this post, but believe me, I could suggest a lot more. But here are some that stood out to me: 1. It's Kind of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini This is a beautiful and personal story about a boy who spends five days in a mental hospital after being admitted because of a suicidal episode. Whilst there, he meets new and interesting people, makes new friends and learns ways of coping with his depression. There are also areas of comedy in the book. I definitely recommend you give it...
