Tips for Keeping a Healthy Lifestyle

Hey, hey internet! Long time no speak! I am back with some tips on keeping a healthy lifestyle and frame of mind. These are just very basic tips that can help change your everyday life. I find these are particularly helpful if you are under a lot of stress or suffer with mental health problems. I am in no way an expert on mental health and do not think these will be a "cure" as such but I personally find them very helpful when it comes to dealing with the everyday problems of having a mental illness. 1. Keep your room tidy... ish. Okay so my first tip is to try and keep your room as tidy as possible. I am definitely not a great example when it comes to this but it really does help. It doesn't have to be perfect but keeping your room tidy does help. For me when I have a very messy room, I have a very messy mind. So just taking some time to clean the space around you and keep it smelling fresh with nice scents (I personally LOVE the room sprays from Marks & Sp...

A Border Collie Named Ruby

Hey internet! This is a short story about my dog, Ruby. Ain't she a beauty? Ruby as a puppy, 2013. Ruby at 3 years old, 2016. I got her for my 16th birthday in 2013 and from day one I was in love with her. She is such a crazy and unique dog who brings me so much happiness. This is a dog who barks at the electronic fireplace, not because there is something wrong with it but because she doesn't like the bit that lifts up and hides the power switch. But she doesn't just mouth off at the fireplace, this is also a dog who will bark at you and talk to you through making weird dog noises. Sometimes, I almost think I can understand her. This is a dog who doesn't give you your privacy when you are in the bath or on the toilet. She will sit next to bath for the whole time you are in it and will stare at the water in fascination. She will sit on the floor when you're on the toilet and even sometimes ask to be stroked. One word to des...

Cruelty Free Cosmetics

Hey internet! I'm back and this week I am going to be showing you some of the cruelty free cosmetics that I use and recommend. I was originally going to post this last week but I ranted instead but, hey, who doesn't love a feminist rant? I use cruelty free cosmetics because I completely disagree with the torture that animals are put through by testing on them. It is not necessary and brands shouldn't be allowed to do it at all. There ARE other methods of testing. Brands such as MAC and Chanel are very loved despite them choosing to test on animals. If people could see what was happening behind closed doors, would they still buy their products? I certainly don't because in my eyes, animal rights will always be more important than materialism. People have always claimed that cruelty free brands are expensive and hard to find... I completely disagree. I have found some very good deals on my products and the products I have splashed out a bit more on have been fantastic...

SECOND-HAND CAMERA APPRECIATION

Hello there! I'm back and man what a week I've just had! I enjoyed a wonderful holiday in London with my partner and then had a blast with him and my closest friends for my birthday weekend! Now here I am recovering and enjoying my lazy Monday at home. Living in Cornwall means dealing with the many tourists, so I decided that London was the perfect opportunity to become one myself! We took loads of photos in places such as Regents Park, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace and enjoyed attractions such as Madame Tussauds and the London Dungeons, (I even got some photos of the underground- I take this tourist thing very seriously!) As I've decided to get a new digital camera for my birthday, this was the last time I properly got to use my old digital camera, the Olympus SP-55OUZ: I've had this one for a few years now and it was bought second hand. The quality of the photos it takes has decreased through age, however I was very impressed with th...

First Post

Hello internet! Yep, I'm starting my first ever blog post off danisnotonfire style! My name is Char, I currently live in beautiful Cornwall and I will be 19 years young on July 24th. I am hoping to be going to university at UWE Bristol in September to study journalism.  Since I enjoy writing and will be studying journalism very soon, I thought this would be a perfect idea! It will be a great platform to share my ideas with the world. I enjoy photography so you'll definitely see a lot of that on here but it will also be very personal-style based. You'll hear different stories, although they may be mostly about my 3 year old dog who keeps life very interesting! I will also include lifestyle, beauty and even the odd rant- if I don't start at least one shit storm then I'm doing it wrong! So, in attempt to keep this post short and sweet... I hope you enjoy my blog! You'll hear from me shortly. Until the next time, Char
